Abu Dhabi
Our proposal seeks to offer a unique and innovating vision for housing and hospitality services in Abu Dhabi, while reinterpreting the traditional elements of the Emirati residential system - the fareej, the sikkak, the barahaat, and the meyadeen.
Our project creates a peculiar urban feel - a space that is not only closed and highly private, but also fluid and transparent. The main functions, although they are strongly imbricated, are clearly differentiated and identified.
It is a project mindful of its context, present and future:
a project that can be experienced not simply as a building or series of buildings, but as a piece of city, allowing for rich and diverse uses, irrigated by multiple access points, and recreating a pleasant, peaceful, and intimate neighborhood-like feeling.
This project, although innovating in form and usage, is based on a universal neighborhood philosophy that can be found in many parts of the world, including the Middle East and Europe. It aims at recreating the privacy, the diversity, and the comfort of a small piece
of neighborhood into a single project.
